TITLE: The Lives of the Saints
SYNOPSIS: Directed by multi-award winner Jerry Ciccoritti, and starring Academy Award winner, Sophia Loren, Lives of the Saints, a 2 part 4 hour mini-series produced in conjunction with the CTV and MediaTrade, tells the story of Vittorio Innocente and his mother Christina, whose affair with a blue-eyed stranger shatters the innocence of Vittorio's childhood. As he pieces together the story of his mother's past, Vittorio discovers the truths of the villagers and the village, and gains a new understanding into human nature. The tiny Italian village of Valle del Sole harbours century-old superstitions, fears, maliciousness, hypocrisy and a pagan past. The closer Vittorio comes to the truth about his mother, the more his discoveries threaten to tear apart his own world.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The story is based on Nino Ricci's best selling trilogy of books. Lives of the Saints ranked #1 in Canada for 72 weeks and won the Governor General's Award for Fiction.
Premiered on CTV on January 2nd and 3rd, 2005 to critical praise and to 1.4 million viewers across Canada.
In August, 2005, Lives of the Saints received 3 Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) Award nominations.
In November, 2005, Lives of the Saints was nominated for Gemini Awards for Best Dramatic Mini-Series, Best Original Music Score and Best Sound, and won for Best Sound.
On December 26 and 27, 2005, CTV will show Lives of the Saints again. Be sure to tune in!
