SYNOPSIS: The Brazilian, recalling his great-uncle's yarns, spins a tale about the encounter of two men in search of a better future: Johann, a young German fleeing the war, and Ranulpho, a Brazilian seeking an escape from the oppressive drought in his home province. Merrily rolling from village to village, they screen a film advertising the miraculous powers of a patent medicine, thereby introducing the rural folk to the magic of cinema.

TITLE: THE HAMSTER CAGE
SYNOPSIS: Lucy and Paul return to their childhood home to celebrate their father's upcoming Nobel Prize in physics. What initially appears to be a typical dysfunctional family gathering takes a bizarre turn when Uncle Stanley arrives with some rather inappropriate gifts and a distastefully young fiancée. First to open her present, Lucy discovers a pair of young girl's panties that trigger horrific memories. As Stanley launches into a persuasive defense of his pedophilia, Lucy impulsively kills him with a toilet plunger and then proceeds to solicit her brother to help bury him in their pet cemetery.
