TITLE: THEY CAME BACK (LES REVENANTS)
SYNOPSIS: One morning, the neighbourhood wakes to see a group of recently deceased people strolling back into town, looking much as they did just before death. Many of the residents are unprepared to resume their lives with their former family members, so a large "refugee" and reintegration camp is set up. Frequent meetings of the town council address employment and benefits for the returnees, as well as how to counsel those on both sides of death. All seems fine until the returnees start exhibiting peculiar behaviour: they never sleep, are immune to disease, seek comfort underground and are incapable of learning. Suddenly, they are a community feared and hated by the others.

TITLE: TIBET: A BUDDHIST TRILOGY
SYNOPSIS: Four years in the making and hailed as a cinematic masterpiece in 1979, writer/director Graham Coleman's three-part feature has been unseen for over 20 years. Now, the film has been reworked into a single presentation, complete with digital restoration of the original material and new commentary. Part 1 is an intimate portrait of the Dalai Lama as a spiritual and temporal leader. Part 2 journeys deep into the mystical inner world of monastic life and presents an authentic revelation of tantric Buddhism, with commentaries by the great 20th century master Dudjom Rinpoche. Part 3, photographed in the awesome landscapes of Ladakh, is a meditation on impermanence and the depiction of the monastery's moving ritual response to a death in the community.

TITLE: TIDELAND
SYNOPSIS: In the great tradition of child fantasy
stories such as The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland, Terry Gilliam takes us on a wild
adventure with his adaptation of Mitch Cullin's cult classic novel. Welcome to the world of
Jeliza-Rose, the young heroine and narrator of TIDELAND. What has brought Jeliza-Rose from the
big city to the prairies? And why is her former rockabilly guitarist father not talking to her
anymore? And who is making all that noise in the attic? Jeliza-Rose drifts from the harsh
reality of her childhood and escapes into the fantasies of her own active imagination. This is
a fantasy world to rival all others; here fireflies have names, bog-men awaken at dusk, monster
sharks swim down railroad tracks, and disembodied Barbie heads share in her adventures. TIDELAND
is as optimistic as it is surreal, as humorous as it is suspenseful - a celebration of the power
of a child's imagination.

TITLE: TRAVELLERS AND MAGICIANS
SYNOPSIS: In the Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan,
nestled deep in the Himalayas, two men seek to escape their mundane lives. Dondup, an educated
university graduate decides that he will be better off picking grapes in the US than working as
a government officer in a remote rural village. Tashi, a restless farm youth studying magic,
cannot bear the thought of a life consigned to his village. Through a trick of his brother, he
is delivered into a dream world of seduction and intrigue. The two men embark on parallel, if
separate, journeys. Their yearning is a common one - for a better and different life. Dondup,
delayed by the timeless pace of his village, is forced to hitchhike through the beautiful wild
countryside of Bhutan to reach his goal. He shares the road with a monk, an apple seller, a
papermaker and his beautiful young daughter, Sonam. Throughout the journey the perceptive,
yet mischievous monk relates the story of Tashi. It is a mystical fable of lust, jealousy and
murder, that holds up a mirror to the restless Dondup, and his blossoming attraction to the
innocent Sonam. The cataclysmic conclusion of the monk's tale leaves Dondup with a dilemma -
is the grass truly greener on the other side?
