Capri Films creates, develops and produces feature film and television product from script to screen. It co-produces with European partners through international treaty co-productions, and joint ventures. Producer and President of Capri Films Gabriella Martinelli heads feature film division. Robin Crumley heads Capri Vision and Trevor Walton, previously with Lifetime Television in the US, is President of Capri Television. Capri Films’ past productions include the Terry Gilliam film Tideland starring Jodelle Ferland, Janet McTeer, Brendan Fletcher, Jeff Bridges, and Jennifer Tilly, which was shot in Saskatchewan. Capri co-produced, with Italy’s Tao-Due, the event mini-series Karol, based on the life of Pope John Paul II, shot in Poland and the Vatican. Another Canadian/Italian co-production, Lives of the Saints, aired on CTV and R.T.I. to record audiences. The two-part, four-hour television miniseries based on Nino Ricci’s award-winning trilogy Lives of the Saints was directed by multi-award winner Jerry Ciccoritti (Trudeau). The stellar cast included Academy Award winner Sophia Loren, Sabrina Ferilli, Kris Kristofferson, Fabrizio Filippo and Jessica Pare. Capri Releasing’s major success of 2007 was the Academy Award nominated film Away From Her by Sarah Polley, starring Julie Christie, Gordon Pinsent and Olympia Dukakis. Capri entered 2008 with a clear objective to produce and distribute filmed and live entertainment that is profitable while maintaining a strong focus on the company’s creative and corporate objectives.
